The drednaught killa

This guy won himself a great respect in my family. In his first battle he managed to destroy my dreadnouht with a single blow of his mighty choppa. My son was overjoyed as the core of my defence was out of game before it even managed to warm up it's power weapon. He jumped all over the house praising his newly emerged champion: "so young and yet such a hero!".





Field promotion came quickly afterwards - the nob was given his own mob of boys (paintjob pending).

WH40k: Desert Grots

Recently I spotted a tutorial on youtube, where a nice guy shows his greenskins painted in a non-orthodox way. This made me want to try some myself.



The skintone recipe was following:

• Iyanden Darksun basecoat
  
• thick wash of Gryphonne Sepia
  
• bring back midtones with Iyanden Darksun
  
• layer highligts mixing in increasing amounts VMC Buff
  
• finish with thin highlights of pure Buff.
  

I like it so far - it defenitely looks still very orky, yet it breaks down the ubiquitous bottle green scheme. Nice distraction after 50 orthodox orks. I will go for a complete mob of desert grots soon.
